Voices Like Yours is a collaborative arts project that hes united local, national and international participants to express resistance for survivors of sexual abuse and their loved ones. Artists Robert House, Glenn Pearce, Kaffine and James Money asked the question “what does your resistance look like?” and then responded to participants ideas through drawing and sculpture.
Participants contributed anything that was meaningful to them: a photograph, drawing, a scanned page from a book, song, quote, poem or even a single word. All submissions were accepted and interpreted into a drawing that was sent back to each contributor. The exhibition features drawings and sculptures inspired by the process.
Artists, Robbie House and Glenn Pearce have developed collaborative creative responses to community contributions that were sent as writings, poetry and image. These have been posted to the Instagram site https://www.instagram.com/cvvoiceslikeyours/
Please note: Participants at all sessions were supported with professional services provided by the Ballarat Centre Against Sexual Assault and/or other trained sexual abuse support workers. All artists were been trained in Trauma Informed Principles and will be supported to create a safe space for participants throughout the delivery of the project. All participants retain the right to remain anonymous in their participation.

This project is part of Continuous Voices
Continuous Voices is a project that connects trauma and creativity to stand for change and resistance against sexual assault and sexual abuse. The project acknowledges the courage of those who have stood for change and provides hope for these continuous voices to be heard. The project will work towards creating a public space in Ballarat to reflect. The shape of this space and memorial will be determined through creative collaborations with community.
